Lustau Almacenista Amontillado del Puerto is an oenological jewel from the winery of José Luis González Obregón, in El Puerto de Santa María. Aged under flor and later with oxidative aging in centenary barrels, it develops great depth and aromatic complexity.
The nose displays intense aromas of hazelnuts, spices and smoky notes. The palate is dry, with a perfect balance between acidity and structure, leaving a long and persistent finish.

This amontillado is part of Bodegas Lustau’s “Almacenista” collection, which highlights the work of small independent winemakers who raise their sherry wines. In this case, the wine is a gem from the José Luis González Obregón winery in El Puerto de Santa María. It is an exclusive wine of limited production, as its solera is composed of only 10 butts.

Aging: It is the result of a complex and double aging process. First, it is biologically aged under a veil of flor (like a fino), which gives it its sharp notes. Subsequently, the flor veil disappears and the wine continues an oxidative aging (like an oloroso), in contact with the air, which gives it its color and complexity. It has an average age of about 12 years.

Color: Dark golden, with amber reflections.

Nose (Aroma): A very aromatic, complex and elegant wine. It combines notes of dried fruits (hazelnuts and walnuts) from the oxidative aging with the sharp touches of the flower veil. Aromas of sweet spices and a background of quince and fine wood are also perceived.

Palate (Taste): Dry and full-bodied. In the mouth it is round and persistent, with a well integrated acidity. There are hints of almonds and a long, dry and elegant finish.
