Zaranda is an organic red wine made by Bodegas Tierra Savia in Cazalla de la Sierra, located in the Sierra Morena Natural Park in Seville, Spain. It is made mainly from Tempranillo grapes, although some vintages include varieties such as Tinta de Toro, Tinta del País, Tinto Fino, Ull de Llebre and Cencibel.

The wine is produced without Denomination of Origin (DO), but some sources catalog it as V.T. Sierra Norte de Sevilla. Main characteristics: Production: The grapes are harvested by hand from old reclaimed vineyards, grown on poor, dry slate soils at 700 meters altitude. The wine ferments with skins in small tanks of 400-800 liters, with two manual treadings per day and no temperature control.

Aged 9 to 12 months in French and American oak barrels (20% new, 80% used up to five years) and 4 to 8 months in bottle.
– Tasting notes: Appearance: Violet to red color, good glycerin, possible sediment.
– Aroma: Ripe fruit, licorice and a touch of peach.
– Taste: Concentrated, with marked tannins, lactic notes, fluid, fresh and mineral.
– Alcoholic strength: Varies according to the vintage, normally between 13 and 14.5% vol.
– Pairing: Pairs well with a wide variety of dishes, especially grilled meats such as Iberian pork or lamb, red meats, cured cheeses and tapas.
– Awards: Silver medal at the Concours International du Salon Millésime Bio (2017).
