- Distillery: Tomatin (Highlands, Scotland)
- Year of distillation: 2014
- Age: 10 years old
- Aging method: Aged primarily in traditional oak barrels and finished for 2 years in Manzanilla sherry butts (a dry, fine sherry aged under a flor yeast layer near the sea, which imparts a fresh, salty character).
- Alcohol content: 46% ABV
- Description: Non-chill filtered and naturally colored
- Format: 700 ml bottle
Official tasting notes:
- Nose: Sourdough bread, salted popcorn, and dried fruit.
- Palate: Nuts (salted walnuts), chamomile tea, grapefruit, maple syrup, raisins, and walnuts.
- Finish: Slightly salty (typical of Manzanilla), with notes of brown butter and a warm hint.
This whiskey stands out for its fresh, salty, and elegant profile, with a hint of sea breeze and herbs that clearly sets Manzanilla apart from other sweeter or more intense sherries.
