Finca Moncloa Tintilla de Rota is a sweet and singular red wine, a sample of the versatility of the Tintilla de Rota grape and the mastery of the González Byass winery. This wine is not a fortified wine in the style of sherry wines, but a natural sweet wine, made from overripe grapes, which gives it exceptional sweetness and concentration.

Winemaking: The grapes come from the Finca Moncloa vineyard, located in the Sierra de Cádiz. The grapes are harvested very ripe, and are often sun-dried to concentrate the sugars and aromas. Fermentation is stopped naturally, leaving a high concentration of residual sugar.

Aging: The wine is aged for a short period in French oak barrels to add complexity.

Color: Dark cherry red, very concentrated, with violet glints.

Nose (Aroma): Very intense and complex. Aromas of candied red fruits (cherry, strawberry), prunes, and notes of dried flowers (violets), sweet spices and a subtle touch of chocolate and cocoa.

Palate: Sweet and concentrated, but not cloying. The sweetness is balanced by a vibrant acidity that makes it fresh and long. Ripe fruit flavors mingle with hints of spice and a very persistent finish that invites further drinking.
