Our Pata Negra Cava winery is located on top of a hill that slopes gently down to the Mediterranean Sea in Vilanova i La Geltrú, Barcelona. The winery is surrounded by an estate of 125 hectares of vineyards with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo and Chardonnay varieties.

Profile and Elaboration

  • Grape Varieties: It is made from a blend of the traditional varieties of cava: Macabeo, Xarel-lo and Parellada.

  • Winemaking: It follows the traditional method of secondary fermentation in the bottle. The term “Semi Dry” refers to its residual sugar level, which ranges between 32 and 50 grams per liter. This gives it a remarkable sweetness, without being cloying, which distinguishes it from the brut and extra brut cavas.

Tasting Notes and Characteristics

  • Appearance: A pale, bright yellow color with fine, persistent bubbles.

  • Nose: The nose is very aromatic. Ripe white fruit notes predominate (apple, pear), with hints of honey and floral notes.

  • Palate: In the mouth it is smooth, with a sweetness balanced by a refreshing acidity. It is creamy and easy to drink, with a persistent and fruity finish.

Thanks to its flavor profile, Pata Negra Semi Seco is a very versatile cava. It is an excellent companion for:
