LA GITANA MANZANILLA SANLÚCAR 75 CL.

La Gitana Manzanilla 75 cl is the most iconic and best-selling wine in its category worldwide. Produced by Bodegas Hidalgo-La Gitana (founded in 1792 in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Cádiz), it is a classic manzanilla from the Denomination of Origin Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda (the closest to the sea within the Jerez region), made 100% from Palomino Fino grapes from its own vineyards in prestigious estates such as Balbaína Alta (Miraflores and El Cuadrado), with white albariza soils >80% calcium carbonate, which provides fineness and a unique saltiness. It is a dry fortified wine (15% vol.), aged under a layer of flor yeast in farms and solera system for an average of about 4–6 years, giving it its marine, fresh, and salty character typical of Sanlúcar manzanillas (strong Atlantic influence).

The label with the gypsy (painted by Joaquín Turina as a tribute to a Málaga tavern) is legendary.

• Color: Bright pale straw, very clean.
• Aromas and flavor: Fresh and lively, with notes of green apple, lemon, chamomile (herb), almond, yeast, sea saltiness, Atlantic breeze, and a hint of seaweed or iodine. On the palate, it is dry, crisp, bright acidic, salty, with a mineral and persistent finish. Very refreshing, ideal as an aperitif.
• Alcohol content: 15% ABV
• Residual sugar: 0 g/L (total dry).
• Serving temperature: 6-8 °C (very cold, best in a sherry or tasting glass).
• Pairing: Perfect with seafood, Iberian ham, olives, fried fish, Andalusian tapas, soft cheeses, or fried snacks. Excellent on its own on hot days.
