Tetas de la Sacristana (or Tetas de la Sacristiana) is a crianza red wine from the Laujar-Alpujarra appellation (Almería, Andalusia, Spain), produced by Selección de Vinos de Fondón in Fondón (Alpujarra Almeriense).
Key features:

• Varieties: A blend of Tempranillo, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon (sometimes with a touch of Syrah, depending on the vintage).
• Formato: Botella de 75 cl.
• Alcohol content: Between 14.5% and 15% ABV
• Aging: 12 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by bottle aging.
• Vineyard: Vines located at an altitude of about 950 meters in the Alpujarra region, harvested by hand and carefully vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.

It is one of the best-known and most award-winning wines from the Alpujarra region of Almería. Its unusual name comes from a local spot called “Tetas de la Sacristana.”

This is a mature, well-balanced red wine with good structure, combining the fruitiness of international grape varieties with the Mediterranean character of the region. It is not an extremely powerful wine, but rather smooth, warm, and easy to drink for a crianza. Typical tasting notes (recent vintages such as 2021 or 2020):

• Appearance: Deep cherry red with garnet hues.
• Nose: Aromas of red and black fruits (cherries, plums, blackberries, ripe strawberries), with toasty notes, vanilla, and sweet spices from the aging in oak.
• Palate: Light to medium-bodied, flavorful, with ripe, rounded tannins. Good acidity, notes of ripe fruit, and a warm touch typical of the altitude and climate of the Alpujarra. A lingering finish with hints of fine oak.

This wine stands out for its balance and for being a fine example of the reds from this mountainous region of Andalusia.

• Roast lamb or pork.
• Grilled red meat.
• Stews, beans with chorizo, or mushrooms.
• Aged and Iberian cheeses.
• Serve at 15–18°C.
