Ramón Bilbao Blanco Verdejo is a young white wine made by Bodegas Ramón Bilbao in the D.O. Rueda, Spain. It is a single varietal made from 100% Verdejo grapes, known for its authentic herbaceous and floral profile that distinguishes it from other Rueda whites.

This wine is vegan and undergoes cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve its fresh varietal character. The current vintage is 2024 and is presented in a standard 75 cl (750 ml) bottle.

Tasting notes:

• Appearance: Straw yellow clean and bright with good tear.
• Aroma: High intensity fruity notes, including citrus (such as grapefruit) and white flowers (such as orange blossom). Herbal nuances of fennel, anise and freshly cut grass add depth.
• Palate: Fresh and balanced, with medium acidity, medium body and unctuous texture. Flavors evoke the nose with citrus, tropical and herbaceous notes in retronasal. Slightly lively acidity on the finish.
• Alcoholic content: Normally around 13% vol. (based on recent vintages).
• Serving temperature: 7-9 °C for optimum freshness.

Food pairings: This wine stands out as an aperitif or with light cold dishes: creamy soups and salads, steamed vegetables, creamy cheeses, white meats (e.g. poultry or fish).

Winemaking details: Grapes: 100% Verdejo, harvested from old vines in Rueda to obtain concentrated flavors.
Winemaking: Manual harvest, soft pressing and controlled fermentation at low temperature (around 14-16 °C) in stainless steel to preserve its aromas. No barrel aging, which keeps it vibrant and young.
Winery background: Founded in 1924 by Ramón Bilbao Murga in Haro (Rioja), the winery expanded to Rueda in the early 2000s. It is recognized for its quality and has won titles such as “Best Spanish Winery” from IWSC.
