Moët & Chandon Ice Impérial is a pioneering champagne, the first and only one created to be enjoyed on ice. This 1.5L magnum format is ideal for sharing on special occasions.

Main characteristics:

  • Composition (Coupage): The blend is carefully selected to maintain intensity and structure even with ice. Pinot Noir (40-50%) predominates for its fruity flavor, followed by Pinot Meunier (30-40%) which provides roundness and richness. Chardonnay (10-20%) provides a refreshing and acidic finish.

  • Tasting Notes:

    • Color: Intense gold with hints of amber.

    • Nose (Aromas): An intense and fruity bouquet. Aromas of tropical fruits such as mango and guava, stone fruits such as nectarine and an original touch of raspberry stand out.

    • Palate: Generous, combining roundness and freshness. An explosion of fresh fruit salad flavors is perceived, with a captivating sweetness of caramel and quince, and a refreshing finish with notes of ginger and grapefruit.

  • Dosage: 45 g/l.

How to serve it:

The key to enjoying Moët & Chandon Ice Impérial is to serve it properly to enhance its freshness.

  1. Chill: Serve very cold, at a temperature between 6°C and 8°C.

  2. Use a suitable glass: It is recommended to use a large wine glass or “balloon glass” so that the aromas can develop and there is room for the ice.

  3. Add ice: Place three large ice cubes in the glass before serving the champagne.

  4. Customize the experience: You can add ingredients that accentuate its freshness and complexity, such as mint leaves, cucumber, ginger slices, lime zest or red fruits like strawberries and raspberries.

History:

The idea of a champagne to be drunk on ice came about in the 1960s in Saint-Tropez, where consumers began adding ice to their champagne to cool it down on hot summer days. Moët & Chandon, recognizing this trend, decided to create a specific product for it. In 2011, the house launched the first champagne designed to be served on ice, Ice Impérial. It is a champagne that celebrates a fun, fresh and free lifestyle, ideal for the summer months.
