Gran Duque de Alba Oro 70 cl is a Solera Gran Reserva Especial Sherry Brandy produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert. With an alcohol content of 40% vol., it stands out for its exceptional 25-year ageing in American oak casks previously used to age Palo Cortado, following the traditional Sherry system of criaderas and soleras.

Produced from ‘holandas’ — high-quality wine spirits — made from Palomino and Airén grapes, this brandy originates from the Gran Duque de Alba solera and continues to mature through five criaderas before returning to the final solera. This process lends it immense complexity, depth and a particularly smooth texture. The Gold Edition is a limited-production release within the range, aimed at those seeking a dessert spirit with extended ageing and a distinctly premium profile.

Visually, it displays a noble colour ranging from antique mahogany to ebony, with a brilliant sheen. On the nose, it is intense and elegant, with notes of vanilla, oak, fallen leaves and nuts, accompanied by hints of raisins and mandarin stemming from its long ageing in wine-filled casks. On the palate, it is complex, majestic and persistent, with a rich, creamy and velvety texture; the finish retains hints of vanilla, oak, dried fruits and subtle touches of walnut.

It is recommended to serve at between 18 and 22 °C in a brandy glass or balloon glass, savouring it slowly after a meal. It pairs particularly well with dark chocolate, chocolates, nut-based desserts, caramel tarts, mature cheeses and cigars.
