Alegría Chamomile from Sanlúcar 75cl

Alegría Chamomile from Sanlúcar is a fortified dry wine from the Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda Designation of Origin, produced by Bodegas Williams and Humbert in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain).

It is a classic chamomile, made 100% from Palomino grapes sourced from vineyards in the upper area of Jerez, such as the Balbaína vineyard. Its aging is biological under a layer of flor in the criaderas and solera system, with an average aging of about 5–6 years (with only about 6 criaderas, which gives it a more intense character and brings it closer to some finos).

• Format: 75 cl bottle (also available in 37.5 cl in some places).
• Alcohol: 15% vol.
• Color: Bright pale yellow, with golden tones in some cases.
• Aromas (nose): Intense and pungent, with notes of yeast, toasted almond, bread, dry hay, floral hints, saline and iodized touches, and a distinctive maritime background characteristic of the Atlantic influence of Sanlúcar.
• On the palate: Dry, fresh, saline, with good acidity, unctuous and silky. It has a medium-to-full body for a chamomile, persistent, with a saline and slightly bitter finish. It is more intense and structured than many standard chamomiles.
• General style: Very dry, ideal as an aperitif, with a pronounced marine character (influence of the Atlantic breeze that promotes flor).

Recommended pairing: Perfect with seafood, fried fish, Iberian ham, soft cheeses, tapas, appetizers, fried foods, or seafood stews. It’s a classic accompaniment to oysters, prawns, anchovies, or any dish with seafood influence.
