62 Millas Al Cielo Oak Red Wine 75 CL is a red wine from the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin, produced by the Pago del Cielo winery (belonging to the Torres Family) in Fompedraza, Valladolid, Spain.

It is made 100% from Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) grapes, coming from vineyards located at about 900 meters of altitude, which gives it a remarkable natural freshness.

Origin of the name: ‘62 Miles to Heaven’ refers to the 62 miles (approximately 100 km) separating the winery from the Kármán line, the boundary between Earth’s atmosphere and outer space, symbolising the extreme altitude of its vineyards and its aspiration to excellence.

Production:

• Typical vintage: 2022 (recently released to mark the 20th anniversary of Torres’ presence in Ribera del Duero).
• Aging: 9 months in French and American oak barrels (300 and 500 liters), which classifies it as an “oak-aged” or young wine with aging.
• Alcohol content: between 14-14.5% vol.
• Format: 75 cl bottle.

Tasting Notes:

• Appearance: Deep, intense, dark cherry color.
• Nose: Intense aromas of dark fruits (blackberries, cherries), forest fruit jam, spices (vanilla, clove, licorice), and toasted hints of wood.
• Palate: Silky, balanced, and elegant, with soft tannins, acidic freshness, medium body, and a warm, lingering finish. It is juicy, with fruity notes and a velvety touch.
• Recommended Pairing: ideal with roasted red meats (such as lamb), stews, casseroles, pasta with tomato sauce, stuffed eggplants, or aged cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C.
