Gran Duque de Alba X.O. 70 cl is a top-of-the-range Solera Gran Reserva sherry brandy, produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert from wine spirits — the traditional ‘holandas’ — selected for their finesse. Its 70 cl bottle size and 40% vol. alcohol content make it an ideal choice for savouring slowly, giving as a gift or adding to a premium selection of Spanish spirits.

The character of this brandy stems from the blend of the ‘soleras’ of Gran Duque de Alba and Gran Duque de Alba Oro, followed by a long ageing process using the traditional ‘criaderas and soleras’ system. The final stage of ageing takes place in American oak casks that previously held Don Guido, a Pedro Ximénez with an age classification of 20 years awarded by the Jerez Regulatory Council. This ageing process in wine-soaked wooden casks imparts depth, elegance and the sweet nuances characteristic of raisins and Pedro Ximénez wine.

Visually, it displays an intense colour ranging from antique mahogany to ebony, with coppery highlights. On the nose, it is complex, concentrated and refined: aromas of dried fruit — grapes and plums — stand out, along with nuts such as almonds and toasted hazelnuts, as well as notes of vanilla, cocoa, caramel, toffee, fine wood and subtle balsamic hints. On the palate, it is silky, full-bodied and well-structured, with balanced sweetness, elegant tannins and a long finish in which notes of raisins, vanilla, caramel and oak return.

It is recommended to drink it on its own, in a balloon glass or brandy glass, at room temperature, allowing it to develop slowly. It also pairs particularly well with dark chocolate, nut-based desserts, mature cheeses, cigars and special after-dinner moments.
