Carmelo Rodero 9 Months Ribera del Duero 75 CL.
Carmelo Rodero is a renowned winemaker from Pedrosa de Duero, Burgos, in Spain’s Ribera del Duero region, known for producing high quality wines under the Bodegas Rodero label. Born into a family of winemakers, he began working in vineyards at the age of 14, later expanding the family estates and supplying grapes to the prestigious Vega Sicilia winery for 14 years.
In 1990, together with his wife Elena, he founded Bodegas Carmelo Rodero, focusing on quality wines made from his “black pearls”, as he calls his grapes. The winery manages between 140 and 170 hectares of vineyards, mainly Tempranillo (Tinta del País), with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, on various soils and altitudes (750-900 meters) in Pedrosa de Duero, Boada de Roa, Roa and Mambrilla de Castrejón. Its wines, including Carmelo Rodero 9 Months, Crianza, Reserva, TSM and the acclaimed Pago de Valtarreña, are recognized for their balance, structure and complexity, often receiving national and international accolades.
The 9 Meses, a Tempranillo aged for 9 months in French and American oak barrels, stands out for its ruby red color, elegant aromas and smooth, round palate. The Crianza and Reserva coupages (90% Tempranillo, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon) are praised for their intensity and harmony, while the Pago de Valtarreña, a single-vineyard Tempranillo, exhibits unique genetic and microclimatic characteristics.
