CARLOS I GRAN RESERVA BRANDY JEREZ 70 CL.
Carlos I Solera Gran Reserva Brandy de Jerez 70 cl is a premium Spanish brandy produced by Bodegas Osborne in the Jerez region (Andalusia). It belongs to the Protected Designation of Origin Brandy de Jerez and is made using the traditional solera and farm system in American oak barrels that previously held Jerez wines (such as Amontillado and Oloroso).
- Volume: 70 cl
- Alcohol content: 40% vol. alc.
- Type: Solera Gran Reserva (dynamic blend with an average age exceeding 4–12 years, depending on the solera)
- Preparation: Distilled from selected wines (mainly low-alcohol holandas for higher quality) and aged in oak barrels previously used for sherry.
Tasting notes:
- Appearance: Deep amber color with golden or bright mahogany highlights.
- Nose: Very aromatic and elegant. Notes of vanilla, cocoa, toasted almonds, nuts, caramel, sweet spices, raisins, figs, and a subtle hint of wine-aged oak and pastry stand out.
- Mouth: Smooth, round, and velvety. Balanced, with intense flavors of dried fruits, chocolate, vanilla, nutmeg, and a hint of sherry. Silky texture, complex and long-lasting.
- Final: Long, warm, and harmonious, without harsh edges.
Tasters highlight its great smoothness, the elegant influence of sherry, and an excellent value for money compared to many cognacs.
How to enjoy it
It is recommended to drink it neat in a tulip glass or low tumbler, slightly warmed with your hands, or with a large ice cube for a more refreshing version. It pairs very well with dark chocolate, nuts, desserts, or as a digestif after a good meal.
