Why buy Gin Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla?
“Seville has a special color, Seville still has its duende, it still smells like orange blossom…”. So says one of the most famous lyrics of the Andalusian capital, written by Los Del Río more than 25 years ago and to which now a new phrase could be added: y me sabe a Tanqueray.
The gin brand has launched Flor de Sevilla, a tribute to the city that contains the color and smell of its streets. And how is this possible? Thanks to new technologies, mainly Big Data. Those responsible for the British distillery have analyzed the streets of Seville, its architecture and location, identifying the chromatic range that predominates in it and capturing it in a natural orange color. In addition, as the song says, the capital of Andalusia smells of orange blossom, and this flower is one of the botanicals along with the bitter orange of Seville that stand out in the mix, accompanied by the four characteristic botanicals of Tanqueray London Dry Gin.
Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste
The classic Tanqueray bottle, wider as it rises from its base to its neck, is responsible for dueling with anyone who does not want to pay homage to the quintessential Seville gin. Made of transparent glass, through it you can guess the pale, clean, natural and orange colors we were talking about before. Once poured into a glass, complex and very fruity aromas are shown, which stand out on the palate predominating, as it could not be otherwise, the flavor of orange and orange blossom.
How to taste it. Pairing
As for the best way to taste Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla, from Yo pongo el hielo we recommend doing it in a wide glass, accompanied by a neutral tonic, since the fruity flavor of the gin is not necessary to highlight it more. Four or five pieces of ice and a previously squeezed orange wedge, and enjoy it in the streets of Seville.
A little history about Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla…
The history of Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla begins in 1860, when Charles Tanqueray, creator and promoter of the brand in the London district of Bloomsbury since 1830, travels around the world looking for new flavors to include in your drink. On one of those trips he came across Seville, and in addition to falling in love with its streets and people, he discovered the aroma of the Seville bitter orange and its orange blossom.
More than a century later, the current heads of the distillery have fulfilled the wishes of its creator, blending these two products with the brand’s signature botanicals to give shape to a gin that seeks, like Charles Tanqueray, to conquer palates around the world.
