Borsao 3 PICOS is the flagship wine of Bodegas Borsao, one of the most renowned wineries in the Campo de Borja region (D.O. Campo de Borja, Zaragoza, Spain). It is one of the first 100% Garnacha wines in Spain, launched in 2000, and comes from old vines planted on the high-altitude slopes of Moncayo, in what is known as the ‘Empire of Garnacha’. The name refers to the three most iconic peaks of this mountain. It is famous worldwide for its exceptional value for money and regularly features on the ‘best buys’ lists of magazines such as Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator, and in guides such as Peñín and Parker.

Tasting notes:

• Appearance: A very intense cherry red colour with a violet rim.
• Nose: Very expressive, with ripe red and black fruit (blackberries, plums, blackcurrants), wild flowers, balsamic notes, vanilla, cocoa and sweet spices.
• Palate: Powerful yet velvety, with very smooth, sweet tannins. A superb balance between fruit, acidity and oak. A long, luscious finish, with hints of liquorice and chocolate.

Ideal Pairing:

• Grilled meats or barbecue-style meats
• Rice dishes with meat and game
• Iberian cured meats
• Cured and semi-cured cheeses
• Spoon dishes (fabada, stewed lentils, etc.)

It is a very easy-to-drink wine despite its concentration and it improves a lot if opened 20–30 minutes before serving (ideal temperature: 16–18 °C).
