Torres 5 Solera Imperial Brandy 70 CL (also known as Torres 5 Solera Reserva Imperial) is a classic Spanish brandy produced by the Torres family in the Penedès region of Catalonia. It is an entry-level expression in their range, distilled from white wines made primarily from Catalan grape varieties such as Macabeo, Parellada and Xarel·lo—the same grapes often used in the production of cava.

Some sources also mention the Airén grape, but the main focus is on wines originating from Penedès to obtain a fruity and aromatic base.

Production and aging:

• Distillation: Double distillation in traditional stills from selected white wines.
• Aging: Matured using the traditional solera system, a dynamic blending method in which young brandies are gradually blended with older ones in stacked American oak criaderas and soleras. This creates consistency and a mature character over time, with the oldest spirits in the bottom tier.
• Classification: Solera Reserva (or sometimes Gran Reserva in advertising), which indicates that at least part has aged for a minimum period, although the solera system does not specify the exact age to achieve a balanced profile.
